I hereby pledge to live up to the guidelines and standards as a Coach for JSAG Basketball by following the Coaches' Code of Conduct:

1.      I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of any personal desire to win.

2.      I will treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the team’s age group.

3.      I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.

4.      I will promise to review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players.

5.      I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.

6.      I will provide a sports environment for my players that are free of drugs, tobacco and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.

7.      I will be knowledgeable in the rules of the tournaments that the team participates in and will teach these rules to my players.

8.      It will be my responsibility to supervise all players from the time practices and games start, until a parent or guardian picks them up.

9.      I will use those coaching techniques appropriate for each of the skills that I teach.

10. I will remember that I am a youth sports coach and that the game is primarily for the children and not for adults.

11. I will coordinate with the needs and concerns of the parents of my players as deemed necessary.

12. I will NOT engage in any unsportsmanlike behavior, such as disrespecting the players and other team staff members, using obscene language and profanities, encouraging fights, abruptly withdrawing from tournaments, walking out on a game situation and the like.
13. I will organize and coordinate all team activities, make decisions for the team and handle all team administrative actions as part of the JSAG organization and under the guidance and approval of the officers concerned.
